- (continued from previous page)acres of land and he had two cows and a calf and he grazed the cattle on the bog. He had a rich brother in Dublin. One day when he was bringing home the cattle he met a man coming that way and the man told him that his brother was very ill in Dublin and for him to go at once to see him. He said he would have to go home to change his clothes the man said that perhaps he would be late and he would give him his clothes so they exchanged clothes and the man started for Dublin across the bog walking (as there was no motors or bicycles in those day's) The other man proceeded home with the cattle and lost his way and got drowned in a bog-hole which was covered with long grass. The cattle wandered home and after some time when the man did not come home his wife got alarmed and called on some neighbours so a search party set out to look for him with lanterns and after some time found him so they brought him home and buried him, and they did not know he was a stranger.
