  1. Famine Times 24-3-'38
    In the famine times people were found dead and dying eating grass. Others crept to Chapel doors to breathe the last prayer. They ate turnips and green herbs which they found.
    Poor people came and broke sprouts off potatoes which the rich peple had and the poor had potatoes out of the sprouts which they set, and the rich peple had none out of the potatoes.
    After that they worked for a day.
