- The most harmful weeds on farms are boahelins or ragweed, slanlus, dockens, chicken weed and white weed. Bishop-weed is harmful to flowers. They are harmful because they spread rapidly and impoverish the soil.
Rushes grow in poor land.
Ceannabhán or bog cotton is found in bogs.
Broom is a cure for swelled feet due to kidney trouble if it is boiled and the feet are washed in the water it is boiled in. Small soft stones are good for the blood, also watercress and fine dandelion leaves are good for the blood.
There are not any traditions connected with herbs or plants or the colour of flowers. There is one small white flower which is called "The Star of Bethlehem because it resembles a star.
