   "Unmoved they hear the widow's wail
   The orphan weeps in vain, man
   They tear and cast them out wholesale
   And sweep them off the plain, man."

   "Humanity astonished stands
   Amid this scene of woe, man,
   Pale mothers shriek and wring their hands,
   And know not where to go, man."

   "Poor famished children rub their eyes
   With their cold little fingers
   And look behind them with surprise
   While yet the police linger."

   "But, oh, these knaves who drive the poor
   From their dear native places
   Eternal torments must endure
   For I'll give them long leases."

   "When they come here they shall not go
   Their pain shall never cease, man,
   There is a fire down below
   Their anguish to increase man."

   "Now believe me" says the illfated angel when I remember my former grandeur that I look with disgust on the acts and deeds of Irish oppressors. And now Sir, come with me and
