At present there is one family of Clarkes, who are known as "Gracies" as their forefathers for four or five generations past were shoemakers. at present Mr. Matthew Cullen of Togher possesses a pair of clogs which were made by "Francie Gracie", who died about twenty years ago, these clogs were not worn for a number of years, as they did not suit the person for whom they were made, these clogs were made of leather and sewn by hand, the "shewns" are made from iron.
