  1. There are not many strong men in this district. There is a man in Monaghanoose by the name of John Lynch. He went through more hardship than most people. If any other man went through as much as he did he would be dead long ago. He could lift more than four hundred weight on his back. Another strong man was Willie Lynch Greaghane[?].He often carried an ass in his arms for a couple of miles. He could let a roar that would be heard three miles away. Michael Smith Greaghlough is able to lift 20st of potatoes on his back, and carry them home
