    rushes and resin. The people melted a lump of resin on a lid and pulled peeled rushes through it. These rushes served as a wick. The calico candles were made the same way, the calico being cut in strips which served as wicks.
    Wheel Making: Wheel making is carried on yet. Paddy Heaney of the Vale Mills, makes wheels. The wheels are made of wood and shod with steel.
    Nail Making: Johnny and Charly the nailer made nails and sold them in the town. Anyone that wanted nails would buy them from him. The nails were square for wood. He made nails for boots. The supplied all the shoemakers in the country. If the shoemaker wanted nails he went to the nailer and if the nailer had the nails made he gave them to him but if he had
