- (continued from previous page)was placed a pot in the middle of the floor in the kitchen. Every farmer used two creels to hang on his ass's back. An ass and creels were the farmer's means of doing his farm work. The farmer's wife would often sit on her ass and creels and bring home her "wants" from the market on Monday. So you see baskets and creels were the principal things about a farmer's place.
- William Colema, Turfad, Knockbride would be at every wake and would make coffins in the barns, He used to get a couple oz's tobacco, a glass of whiskey and tea for his pay.
Rope Making: All the farmers made ropes out of their flax.
Churn Making: Cooper Comey of Killinkere made barrels, tubs and churns.- Collector
