    small well or hole in a rock which is believed to contain a cure for sore eyes and warts. The affected part is washed in the water and a pin (or something made of iron or steel) is left at the well.
    Sore Throat: Roasted salt put into a woollen stocking and tied around the neck.
    Chilblains: Wash them ins alt herring brine.
    Glandular Swellings:- A poultice of white lily root will cause the swelling to come to a head and break.
    Convulsions (in children):- Put them into a hot mustard bath.
    Pains (babies) :- Catch them by tthe feet, hold them head downwards and shake them.
    Colic:- Flannel cloths wrung out of very hot water applied to the affected part.
    Brain Fever:- Bladder of a cow, filled with cold water and applied to the head.
    Still Joints:- Rub the affected part
