    There was also another old school in the townland of Turfad. It was a little old house which was changed into a school. Master Dermot from Turfad was the teacher who taught in it. He lived in his own house near the school. Arithmetic, English reading and Geography were taught in those schools long ago. All boys and girls used to go to school until they would be very big.
