- 1) Carraig na Naoidhneán: -In Spring tides, a large rock exposes between this island and Hog Island. Long ago two Kilrush women were picking sea-weed on this rock. As soon as they had loaded their boats with it, they headed home intending to return for a second load. They left their two babies on the rock. Evidently they were longer in the mainland than they intended, because when they returned the tide had rushed in over the two little children. Since that day the rock has been called " Carraig na Naoidhneán "(continues on next page)
