A Local Poet.
A man named Peter McKiernan used to make songs. The old people of the district used to get him to make songs for them. He was known all over his townland of Ballyheady. A good many of the old people could tell you some of songs yet.

Ballyconnell - A Local Poet.
There was a man named Ned Reilly who lived around Ballyconnell and he used to make poems and songs. There is a story told about this Poet. There was a man working on the Canal and he had only one shirt. One day he washed it and put it out to dry and a Heifer ate it and this(continues on next page)- Informant
