“We have a churn at home.”
We have a churn at home. It is about two feet high and one foot broad.
The parts of the churn are the lid, the dash and the joggler. When you are churning with a dash you lift up and down quickly.
The joggler is put on the dash in on teh churn lid to keep the milk from splashing.
When the churning starts hot water is put in to heat the milk. When the butter is coming on the milk too quickly cold water is added.
If anybody comes in when the churning is working he is asked to take a brash. If the person does not take(continues on next page)- Collector
