    if it was true he would play the fiddle outside the gate his friends bet with him he would not go back. The next night the old man went back and took his fiddle with him. When he reached Shanakyle he heard the sound of dancing feet. Taking off his coat he began to play the fiddle. When he had finished he heard a voice saying "It will be your turn tomorrow night, John", the next night the old man went back and danced outside the gate and the sound was never again heard.
