  1. Found 1935 and still preserved on land of Mr Joseph Rothwell, Woodlands, Ardatten, Tallow.
    (diagram with measurements).
    A piece of bog oak shaped like a large pig trough or flat bottomed boat was found in 1935 on this farm. It was about four feet under the surface and buried in turf. The timber is in a very good state of preservation and each piece is about four inches thick. The trough is about six feet long and one and a half feet wide and is open at both ends.
