- This was one of the worst storms of wind and rain remembered in this part of the country. The wind roared and howled all night. Roofs were blown off many thatched houses and the inmates took refuge in neighbouring houses. The roads were all blocked by trees lying across them and it took some days to make the roads passable. No one was killed in this part of the country.
