    who liked to listen to him talking about himself. He invariably bragged about beating police and bailiffs His favourite story was how he jumped over a house (a dwelling house and landed safe in a dung heap opposite the door.
    The house was on the brow of a hill and the ridge was barely level with the land at the back of the house. The jump could be done by anyone who could jump a distance equal to the width of the house about 12 to fourteen feet.
