- There is a fort situated in Coolmeen Beg. The fort is near a fence. All the forts is covered with black-thorn bushes. The forts was never interfered with. There is no pit or anything of that kind in the fort. A large bank of earth, surrounds the fort. Cattle are allowed to roam through the fort. There was never, any lights seen in the fort.

- There are a lot of old forts around the district of Coolmeen. The Danes had the forts to defend themselves from the enemy. There is a fort in John Clearys place. This fort was built by the Danes. It is made of stone and mortar. In the middle of the fort is a huge hole and a flag covering it. There the Danes kept their implements. These implements were a stone hammer, and pincers tied together and a stone pipe. On the pipe was Danish(continues on next page)
