- (continued from previous page)Pat na noggin was a man that used to sell noggins around the county. one night he was tired so he went into a fort to rest himself. He lay down to sleep and while he was lying down he heard a noise and it louder and louder and soon he heard voices shouting "Get me a horse, get me a horse"! and says Pat "Get me one too." It was the fairies that was in it. So Pat was provided with a horse and mounted. They fairies then asked him where they could go to get a fair girl that night. "Divie a fairer girl I know than Nora Magrath the miller's daughter from this to where she lives" says Pat. The fairies then said that they would go and get her for she was at a dance that night that was being held in a nearby barn. They also told Pat that he would have to come with them and stick a rish (rush) up Nora's nose at a certain time. On they went and they were all dancing inside the barn, and those that werent were sitting in couples. Pat at a certain time ran a rish up Nora's nose and of course she immediately sneezed and when she was sneezing the third time says Pat to her "God bless you Nora even if there is no one to say it except myself". Immediately Pat was thrown down from where he was sitting and was nearly killed and a terrible hub-bub arose. This scattered the dance. When Pat got back to the fort, all was gone, his noggins broken and he(continues on next page)
