  1. About four miles from the village of Killeshandra at a place called Baker's Bridge which crosses the river Erne there was a curragh found some years ago by a man named John Flynn. The curragh was forty feet long and three feet wide and was cut out of the trunk of an oak tree and the wood was in a perfect state of preservation. Many other things were found including a bronze sword which was found by George O'Reilly and it was a little rusted but when cleaned looked like new. He sent it to the national Museum Dublin and got £1..10s for it.
