    That loyal little fellow,
    George the Proselytiser's son,
James Birney too and limpy Fife,
    Are there among the lot,
    With fathead Billy Pollock,
    And sly old Johhnie Scott,

They drew their seats around the fire,
And in chorus loud did join,
    To celebrate the martial deed,
    Of Billy at the Boyne,
    Then Johhnie Scott waxed eloquent,
    He said "My Gallant Boys,
    Poor Vance is harably treated,
    And it sorely me annoys,
Oh, if the good old days of yore,
    We only could bring back,
    We'd quickly tame these rebels,
    With pitchcap and the rack.
