    big kiln eg. at Carrickmacross and the farmers drew the lime hime, so that the small kilns on each farm were no longer needed.

  2. The Swing plough is still in use in this district but an occasional farmer has got a wheel plough. All wooden ploughs, except the coulter and sock which were made of iron, were used. These ploughs were all painted red, and two or sometimes only one horse, were used for ploughing.
