- There are many wild animals in Cratloe as rabbits, hares, badgers, Otters, rats, mice, weasels and squirrels and many others. The rabbits are very useful.
Their skin is dyed and gloves are made from it.
They eat grass and cabbage and every kind of herbs.
There is a special cure from the hare's soup. It would cure delicate people. The hares eat green herbs also.
The fox is the cleverest animal. He steals fowl from farms.
A man in Cratloe named Neil was out shouting early in the morning. When he was coming home he met his wife and her sister and following the fox.
The fox had their gander on his back. The man shot the fox and the women got two sticks and started beating the fox when he was dead.
Another man was out and when he came in, he found the fox smoking his pipe.
The badges come out in the night and bark like a dog and if they saw a person during the night they would bite them.
They eat fowl and small animals. The otter lives in water. He eats every kind of fish.
