    old houses and the place where the bed was placed was called the off-shoot and In some off-shoots there was a window. A fireplace was always in the centre of the gable. The front of the chimney was made with stone and morter[mortar] and a chimney was always in the old houses.
    The windows were made of glass and in other houses there was no glass but shutters were put up on the windows at night.
