  1. Many cures can be obtained from the herbs in the fields if the people know how to use them. There is a class of weed growing in the field called 'sally weed' , which is a great cure for a cold.
    Pull this weed and get the root of it. Wash the root very clean, and take off the outside skin.Then boil it in about one quart of water, for twenty minutes.
    Then strain the juice from the root and bottle it for about one week. Then take one spoon.
