  1. (continued from previous page)
    A half-a-loaf tis ever said
Is better far than nought of bread
A German force you may rely
Will surely take but will not buy
And Vulcan if he makes a haul
Wont pay you any price atall
Ere to the town you turn tail
Proclaim at once a cheapened sale
And say with no uncertain voice
"We're selling goods below Cost Price"
Through Europe quivers neath war's shock
Though nations sway and empires rock
Though rifles crack and cannons roar
And soldiers wade through human gore
And bloody fights by land and sea
    May stagger yet humanity
That you're selling goods at prices small
