- 15-12-37The village I live in is called Ballyforan. Ballyforan means the mouth of the stony ford. Ballyforan is situated in Co. Roscommon. There are nine dewlling houses, five shops and a post office in it. There are two schools and a barrack also. The population of Ballyforan is 83 people. There are the ruins of an old mill about a half-mile from Ballyforan. It was built about a hundred years ago by Mr. Kenny who lived in Ballyforan lodge. It was he who was the landlord of Ballyforan at that time.
