- 12-1-38When people are churning they put a coal under the churn and they shake salt on the lid. When a stranger comes in when people are churning he takes the churn because if he did he might bring the butter. There are some old churns in Creeher yet. The old churn was about three feet high and two feet wide at the bottom and about one and a half at the top. The dash was about four feet long. It was more difficult to churn with the old churn than with the newer ones.
