  1. Long ago there lived in Cork a priest who was so lonesome, that he never went to a sick call after nightfall unless he had somebody with him. In those days the priests had no other way to travel unless on horseback and these were very slow for long journeys.
    One night as he was finishing his night prayers he heard a tapping at the hall door and as his servant was sick he himself had to go
