- Long ago there lived a man in Kilgarvan who was very fond of drinking all intoxicating drinks, and it was at every fair he used to drink most.
One morning as he was going to the fair intending to have a great day's drinking, he felt himself getting sick and at the same time he said to himself that the whiskey would cure him.
