- 24. Cures 22 -3- '38. Long ago when there was no medicine or no healing substances to be got in shops or from doctors ,the old people had to get cure themselves in the gardens or fields or to make up cures of their own.
A common cure for a burn was to lick a lizard ,and then lick the burn. The person who would have had pains in their bones would beat himself with nettles until he would be well burned and blistered .
