    13 in ridges. The piece of the potatoe that is sowed is called a sgiollan. An eye is left in in each sgiollan.
    Long ago the farmers used use timber ploughs .There are no timber ploughs used nowadays.When the stalks are up he softens them with a spade. Then he sprays them with a spraying machine .The machine is made of copper .he puts spray and washing -soda and blue -stone into the machine ,and mixes them with water .Then he sprays the potatoes with it.
