town at night. On an occasion he had a donkey with him. The night was dark and he had no light. He saw the seargeant going out the road on duty. The man faced out after the (searched) seargeant. A bicycle came in the road and the man saw the guard about a hundred yards away. He took the donkey out of the cart and tied him behind. He went into the shafts himself and when the seargeant asked for his light he said "Talk to the driver"
