Well Banaher was a fellow that lived long ago, and wan day he made a bargain with the devil. The bargain was this.
They sowed a field; and Banaher told the devil that he'd have his choice of whatever grew above the ground or whatever grew below it. The devil said he'd take whatever grew under the ground. When Banaher heard this he sowed corn in the field and of course when the harvest came he had all above the ground. He cut the corn and kept it and the devil had nothing but the stubbles.
Next year they met again, and made the bargain. "You be me last year" says the devil, "but you wont let me(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
