- The Cluan Ciothán road is a very old road, it comes from Claremorris to the village of Cluan Ciothán. At the village it passes down to the shore of the big lake called Dromady Lake that is beside the village. It was made some years before the famine.
At the end of the town of Claremorris there is a lake. It is joined to another lake by a small river. In years gone by there was no bridge over the river and a man called Maurice Prendergast put a wooden bridge over the river. It was from this bridge Claremorris got its name. It is called in Irish "Clár Cloinne Mhuiris. Some time in the sixteenth century there was a new bridge built.- Bailitheoir
