    The main road that is now steamrolled was not wide always. It was a narrow road which went up through Carton, Carn and Carrownedan and it came out in Ballyhaunis near Dr Crean's house.

    There is another path from Cappagh road to Knock because the people of this district had to go there for Confirmation and that was the nearest way.
