- Many travelling folk visit the district of Balbriggan. There are a family of people named Greens who are most frequently to be seen around this district. The father of the family is a tin-smith. He makes cans and buckets.
They sell cans, saucepans, tin measures, frying pans and tin mugs. They also sell mats, rugs, lace pins, pictures and combs. They also make baskets which they sell in the shops and to the people. They also make fancy lace. Sometimes the travelling folk have got caravans in which they travel. They use oil stoves to cook their meals. Some have got tents to dwell in. They light their fires outside the tent as it would be dangerous to light it inside.
There is another family named Martins who also visit our district. They are known to be the best of the travelling folk for lace making. Mr. Martin is also a famous black-smith(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
