- Collier the Irishman was an outlaw. His one aim was to rob the mail coaches. On one ocasion he was coming through a village called Oldbridge situated near the Boyne valley. He called to the dwelling of an old woman. She felt terribly nervous in the presence of this fearless man of the road. He told her not to be afraid. He told her to hold out her apron and he filled it with gold which made her comfortable for the rest of her life. There he remained for the night and departed at dawn next morning. This is one of the many stories relating to Collier the Robber.
