- Local Forge
The local forge is situated about two hundred yards south of the village of Ballyboghill in the townland of Grange and Patrick Donnelly is the name of the smith there.
The forge is there a long time because the present smith's father and grandfather were also smiths there. It is about twenty feet long and fifteen feet broad. It is joined to his house and has a slated roof and a sliding door.
The inside of the forge is dirty like all forges and has a bad smell. There is one large fireplace and there is always a big furnace burning in it to heat the iron so that he will be able to shape the shoes.
Under the fireplace there is a large trough of water in which he cools the hot shoe(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
