- Travelling Folk are much more common nowadays than they used to be long ago. They go from one place to another place nearly every week and sometimes nearly every second day. They go around with donkeys and carts and some of them have caravans. The poorer class of traveller has a donkey and cart. When they are coming the donkey, cart and men nearly always appears first and the women go from door to door selling things such as laces, lace, saucepans, pans, cans, studs and some sell rosary beads etc. Some of these people make & their living in this way. Mr Cash is the name of a traveller who visits Clondalkin frequently. He sells horses, goats and tinwear. He camps near our house and you can hear him making the things of tin up to ten o'clock at night. He is married and has several children.The Commons Road Clondalkin is a usual camping ground for travelling folk. Sometimes there is only on family gone about an hour when another comes and in a very short time they have a big(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
