“At one time there were thirteen families living beside the school, now there is only one family.”
At one time there were thirteen families living beside the school, now there is only one family. Some of the older people died and the younger left the district and went away to different places. In some of these homes there now remains only old ruins or parts of walls marking the places where there were once comfortable homes.
Convenient to the school there is a grand hall with a belfry. This hall was erected in 1906. After a time it was changed to a Parochial Hall and since the Rector in Ballyshannon comes two Sundays every month to have services in it. This hall is a very up to date building and is a magnificent piece of work both outside and inside [sic] The belfry was built in 1919. This building shows great credit to Mr Robert Lowry the Architect and Mr David Corsecadden and Mr Robert Lowry builders. This hall is the nicest and best finished for a considerable distance.- Bailitheoir
