I am a donkey dealer,
The best upon the line,
I have a donkey here to day [sic],
And proud to call it mine.
You talk about these donkeys,
And other donkeys too.
There was not one among them all,
Could gallop the “Bold Cuckoo.”II
My donkey he is graceful,
He wears a coloured tail,
His neck is long and slender,
And his colour very pale.
Boys, if you only whistle,
He will rarely come to you.
He is a rattling roaring donkey,
Which they call the “Bold Cuckoo.”III
I thought my donkey good enough,
To win at Clayside Race.
I booked him for the Derby,
And took him to the chase.
