    At length the groom said - "Nothing at all worth telling except that the old tower down at the Abbey fell"
    The Captain then said - "That is just the reason why I sent you down, to find out whether that would happen"
    As the groom was leaving the Captain ordered his carriage for next day to go to his solicitor with orders to sell his estate. He did in fact sell it. It would seem as if the fall of the old tower were predicted for that day with consequent ill-luck for himself.
