- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)and then stable your horse. You can stay all day, then take your dinner and come home in the evening". The groom was surprised and asked what else he had to do, but the Captain said he required nothing else.
Evening came and the groom returned. The Captain asked him if anything strange happened in Kilmacrenan. The groom said he heard no news. The Captain however persisted in repeating. "Now, anything at all?"
At length the groom said - "Nothing at all worth telling except that the old tower down at the Abbey fell"
The Captain then said - "That is just the reason why I sent you down, to find out whether that would happen"
As the groom was leaving the Captain ordered his carriage for next day to go to his solicitor with orders to sell his estate. He did in fact sell it. It would seem as if the fall of the old tower were predicted for that day with consequent ill-luck for himself.- Bailitheoir
