    There were also men in Ray long ago who could run and walk very fastly. Two brothers named John and Joseph Gallagher walked twenty-five miles in seven hours on a bad day after Christmas.     The greatest boat-pullers and oarsmen in vicinity were Jimmy Griffin and John Mc Fadden. They pulled many boats when they were young and strong in Lough Swilley.
    The greatest jump in Ray was jumped by John Sweeney who jumped over four feet without touching the bars.
    The greatest plough-man in the didtrict was Bernard Boyle from Glenalla. He could plough at the least, over the acre in the day.
    Neal Laney also from Glenalla was the greatest shoulder-stone thrower in the county. He could throw stones five feet farther than any of the police-men who were
