- The dog, cat, horse, goat, pig, sheep and donkey are domestic animals. There are names given to nearly all these animals especially to the dog, horse, cow and cat. Sometimes a horse or cow is called "Molly" or "Jimmy". The dog is usually called "spot" or "Jack".
When people are driving cows or calves they say "Te Te Te Te" to make them go slow. The cow-house is called a byre in some places and there is a place for every animal in it. In some places the horse has a house for itself and it is called a stable.
