- On our farm at home we have many different kinds of animals. Each animal has to be cared in its own way.
The names of these animals are horses, cows, pigs, hens, turkeys, dogs, cats. The most important of these animals are horses and cows.
The horses stay at night in the stable. Each horse has a place to stand in with boards between them. Each horse also has a manger to eat his straw or corn. The horses harness hangs in the stable. The horse is kept to do the work of the farm. In the summer the horses are very warm working, so the farmers cut the long hair with horse clippers.
The cow is kept on the farm to give milk. The cows are let out to the field to eat grass in the summer, but in the winter they get their food in the cow house. The cows eat straw, and hay, and turnips in the winter.
The cow house is called the byre. Each cow has a place to stand or lie in. They are tied with ropes on some farms, and on others they are tied with chains. The rope or chain is put round the cow's neck. We have a cow at home which(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
