- Weather Lore (continued)
1. In the evening if you see the rays of the sun pointing downwards, it is a sign of rain, and if you see them pointing upwards, it is a sign of a storm.
2. In bad weather if a rainbow is seen between the Rocky Hill, Carnamoyle, Muff, Co.Donegal and Burnfoot, Parish of Fahan Co.Donegal it is a sign of the weather mending.
3. When one end of a rainbow is seen in Moville, Co.Donegal, and the other end seen in the opposite side of the water, it is a sign of very stormy weather.
4. It is a sign of rain to hear a great sound in the river.
5. Seagull! Seagull! Sink in the sand.
There will be no good weather when you come to land.
