- Once upon a time there lived an old man who had a very good cow. In the morning he went out to milk the cow and when he went into the byre a great big hare came out of the byre; it ran down the street.
The man followed it and it dis-appeared. So he went up again to the byre to milk the cow and she had no milk for the hare had milked the cow. She never came back because he put a silver coin into his gun and shot her. She was a witch and the only way to shoot a witch is with a silver coin.- Collector
