- About thirty years ago hardly any people wore shoes or boots in this parish.
A few old people in this parish never wore any boots or shoes at any time in summer or winter.
The children in this parish go on the bare feet to school in the summer but they wear boots, or shoes, sometimes sandals to the church.
There is a place in this parish called Glengad where the children all go the school and the church in summer barefooted.
There is only one shoemaker in this parish. He does not belong to this place.
Many of the men wear "clogs" because they are very warm and much cheaper.
It is believed if you wash your feel in potato water it will cure corns.
